David Kiehl is currently the Nancy and Fred Poses Curator at the Whitney. Previously, he was associate curator of prints and illustrated books at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and a consultant curator at the Wolfsonian Foundation in Miami Beach. While at the Whitney, Kiehl has organized such shows as Edward Hopper: Printmaker, Charles Burchfield: Works on Paper,
Memorials of War, Political Natur, Ellen Gallagher: DeLuxe, Christian Marclay: FESTIVAL, and
​I, You, We. He was responsible for the installations of the Whitney Museum’s - The Art of Richard Tuttle, Kiki Smith: A Gathering, Jenny Holzer: Protect Protect, and Yayoi Kusama. He recently worked on the Whitney’s exhibition, David Wojnarowicz: Giving Chaos Reason and Delight.

In addition to his curation, Kiehl has served as faculty for Yale University, School of Art, Critical Practice; contributed to Art News, Art on Paper, and various university, gallery and museum publications. He currently serves on several boards such as the Board of Directors of Printed 
Matter; Advisory Board, LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies, Columbia University; Editorial Board, Tamarind Papers; and the Advisory Committee, Charles E. Burchfield Foundation, Burchfield-Penney Art Center.

Open to All Media:
Art of the Northeast is a competition/exhibition highlighting the diversity of work that is currently being made in the Northeast by emerging and established artists.The juror will have at his discretion the ability to select a suite of three to five works by an individual artist. The Best in Show Prize is a solo exhibition at Silvermine Arts Center with a $3,000 stipend for show related expenses. To be considered for the Best in Show Prize, artists are required to enter a minimum of three works. Eligibility: Open to all artists, 17 years of age and older, residing in CT, DE, MA, MD (D.C.), ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI & VT. Original artwork in any media will be accepted. Giclée reproductions of original works will not be accepted. Eligible artwork must have been completed after January 1, 2015, and fall within the restrictions.
